Love Tutoring brings together the philosophy that has shaped my work over two decades in education. It's written for tutors, teachers, parents and anyone who believes that learning is about far more than delivering content.
Why I Wrote It
I didn't write a book about tutoring.
I wrote a book about children.
For many years I noticed that conversations about tutoring focused on grades, exams and academic results. Those things matter. But I believed there was something much more important happening.
Every tutoring session is a relationship between two people. When children feel understood, safe enough to make mistakes and confident enough to think aloud, something remarkable happens. Learning begins to feel possible again.
Love Tutoring grew from that belief. It explores the relationships, psychology and everyday moments that make great tutoring so much more than explaining a subject.
