For Professionals
Supporting children through collaborative working.
I work alongside educational psychologists, therapists, SENDCos and schools to provide tutoring that complements—not replaces—the wider support around a child.

Shared Goals
Children make better progress when the adults around them are working in the same direction.
Every professional brings a different perspective. My role is to contribute thoughtful, evidence-informed tutoring that fits alongside existing support, communicates clearly and helps children experience one joined-up team around them.
How we work together
Tutoring is one part of a much bigger picture.
Children rarely need support from just one professional. The most meaningful progress often happens when educational psychologists, therapists, schools, families and tutors are all working towards shared goals.
My role is to understand the wider picture before planning tuition. Rather than creating another isolated intervention, I aim to build on the recommendations already in place and help children apply them during authentic learning experiences.
Good tutoring should strengthen the support around a child—not compete with it.

Professional feedback
Work that leaves everyone
feeling
more hopeful.
We work alongside schools and education organisations to create thoughtful interventions, stronger professional practice and meaningful change for children.
Julia’s work around tutoring, confidence-building and reflective practice has left a lasting impact on our team.
Her sessions have been nothing short of transformative. Through meaningful and energising conversations, Julia created space for honest dialogue and genuine growth, both professionally and personally.
What truly sets Julia apart is the warmth, insight and authenticity she brings to everything she does.
Working together
A trusted part of the team around the child.
Julia brings undimmed enthusiasm and an excellent understanding of how best to educate our student.
It always takes a real collaboration to see the best results, and Julia has been a key part of the team around 'R'.
We would love to work with her again and look forward to using her expertise very soon.
After an INSET day
Reflection that led to practical change.
Julia was passionate about the subject and tailored the session to us as a group.
Having someone who understood our context and ethos was really helpful and removed barriers we often experience with external training.
The session refreshed our thinking, and we will be using the ORA method within our approach going forwards.
Training and professional support
Create space for the conversations that move practice forward.
In practice
Turning recommendations into everyday learning.
Assessments and reports often contain valuable recommendations. My role is to translate those recommendations into practical tutoring sessions that children can understand, experience and apply with confidence.
Supporting planning, organisation, working memory and independent study skills.
Helping children rebuild trust in themselves as learners after difficult experiences.
Sharing useful observations with parents and professionals when appropriate.
Communication
Clear communication. Shared understanding.
Effective collaboration depends on thoughtful communication. With parental consent, I can share observations, celebrate progress and contribute practical insights that support the wider team around a child.
Professional updates
Where appropriate, I can provide concise updates for educational psychologists, SENCOs, therapists and schools, helping everyone maintain a shared understanding of progress.
Written reports
Reports can include strengths, barriers to learning, successful strategies, observed progress and practical recommendations that can be used by families and professionals alike.
Respecting boundaries
My role is to contribute to a child's learning, not to replace the work of therapists, schools or other professionals. Collaboration works best when everyone's expertise is valued.
Flexible involvement
Every family is different. Some referrals involve regular communication, while others simply require occasional updates. Together, we'll agree what is most helpful for the child.
A shared commitment
Every child deserves a team that works together.
When professionals share insights, respect one another's expertise and keep the child at the centre of every decision, tutoring becomes more than an extra lesson. It becomes part of a coordinated plan that helps children grow in confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning.
If I don't believe tutoring is the right next step for a child, I'll always say so. My priority is finding the support that best meets each child's needs, whether that's with me or elsewhere.
